Souper Jenny ATL
The Challenge
Five neighbourhood cafés, menus that change daily by location, and a nonprofit arm all share one Squarespace template. The warmth that made Souper Jenny an Atlanta fixture since 1999 — Jenny still writing recipes, servers who sing — gets flattened into stock café styling, and the daily menus are the hardest thing on the site to actually read.
The Solution
A Next.js 15 rebuild structured as a tile-first mosaic: oversized display type, saturated colour lanes, full-bleed food photography instead of boxed thumbnails, and a full-screen menu overlay. Editorial confidence borrowed from The Push, held to restaurant discipline — hours, locations and the daily menu stay scannable rather than over-animated. Every real URL, address and policy preserved; no invented menu items.
